Pulse Arc
Spring Semester 26 | Two Week Project
Pulse Arc combines everyday luxury with subtle health tracking. Designed with a custom-fit form, it prioritizes comfort while maintaining a refined, minimal aesthetic suited for daily wear. Rather than feeling overly technical, the watch seamlessly integrates heart rate monitoring into a clean, elevated design—balancing function with a sense of quiet sophistication.

Reflection
For this project, I set out to design a wearable that felt more personal and elevated than the typical health-focused smartwatch. Many existing products prioritize function, but often at the expense of form. My goal with Pulse Arc was to create something that balanced both—an object that could seamlessly fit into everyday life while still providing meaningful health insight.
A key part of my process was focusing on fit and comfort. Using a 3D scan of my wrist, I was able to design a form that felt tailored rather than generic. This pushed me to think more critically about how wearable products interact with the body, not just visually but physically. It also allowed me to explore how customization can enhance both usability and emotional connection to a product.
Throughout the design process, I worked extensively in SolidWorks and KeyShot to refine the form, materials, and overall aesthetic. I was particularly focused on achieving a sense of everyday luxury—using clean geometry, smooth transitions, and a minimal interface that subtly communicates heart rate data without overwhelming the user.
One of the most successful aspects of this project was how the final design feels cohesive. The form, function, and concept all align with the original intention of creating a refined, wearable piece. At the same time, this project challenged me to think beyond standard solutions and consider how small details—like fit, material, and interface—can significantly impact the overall user experience.
Looking back, I would continue to explore how the interface could evolve and become even more intuitive, as well as how different materials could further enhance the sense of luxury. Overall, this project strengthened my ability to design with both precision and intention, and it reflects my growing interest in creating products that feel as personal as they are functional.
